After experiencing anxiety and stage fright many times, it was very important to be exposed to several different relaxation techniques early on, at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. The idea that one could overcome doubts and fear by learning to be more conscious of what goes on, to understand, that it is not a weakness to feel insecure, was a life changing experience. Now a focal part of my own teaching, it has accompanied me throughout my life, later being intensified by the idea of deaccelerated breathing as taught by Dr. Thomas Loeb.
