Learn how to relax!

Stress is one of the principal causes of illness today. Modern lives are full of professional and personal commitments which create extreme stress. In addition, constant availability caused by mobile devices and also the need to succeed add to this situation and create an unbelievable strain on our body and mind. Some find they also cannot relax from this situation at night, causing a long term build-up of stress. We have to relearn how to relax and how to listen to our body to guarantee we do all we can to prevent illness.

The human body has the ability to recover. Help it along by identifying the stress areas in your life, and handle it better through mental and body relaxation techniques. These include breathing techniques, Progressive Muscle Relaxation (Jacobson), Meditation, Autogenic Training, body scan and phantasy/imaginary journeys. Other skills such as organising tasks better and setting priorities are also a part of this program. As a certified Relaxation Coach ( Academy of Sports and Tao Health Berlin) I offer the following courses (All options are available online through Zoom, AdobeConnect or other apps):

Option A:

Individual sessions

  • weekly sessions of 1h each (min. 4 to 8 weeks)
  • individual assessment of personal/work situation identifying stress sources
  • creation of personal relaxation plan/method based on individual schedule
  • elaboration of training log/plan (setting goals and checking results) to deal with current stress and prevent future problems

Option B:

Sessions in pairs (2 participants/friends)

  • weekly session of 1h each (min. 4 to 10 weeks)
  • assessment of both participants personal/work situation, identification of common stressors
  • different relaxation techniques will be presented and learned
  • elaboration of training log/plan (setting goals and checking results) to deal with current stress and prevent future problems
  • participants will learn to be more independent and manage their life better.

Option C:

Sessions in groups (10 participants)

  • weekly session of 1h each (min. of 4 to 10 weeks)
  • identification of personal/work situation stressors
  • presentation of several relaxation techniques  so each individual can find their favourite
  • elaboration of training log/plan (setting goals and checking results) to deal with current stress and prevent future problems for each member

Option D:

Introduction to Relaxation Techniques (one time session of 1h30 for groups or individuals)

  • learn about stress, where it comes from, what our physiological reactions are and how it can affect our well being
  • influence our reaction by being introduced to different techniques
  • enjoy immediate effect by experiencing some examples
